Current Favourites

When it comes to monthly favourites, I always find it hard to write them purely because I'm one of those people who once they find something they like they stick to it – which means my monthly favourites usually stay around for a good few months so instead this blog post is my current favourites.

Cleansing waters are still having their moment and this one is another to add to my growing collection! The Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water is just like all the others I’ve tried expect you get more – a whopping 400ml to be exact, which works out to be around 200 uses so it claims. The idea of these miceller waters, oils and so on is to break down your makeup and another daily grime that has built up on your face, easily – which this does. It’s hypoallergenic and is fragrance free and is great at breaking down makeup. I use this a first cleanse in the evening before going in with a cleansing balm for a more thorough cleanse.

Now that it's June and the weather (hopefully) should start warming up I've dug an absolute summer essential for me, the John Frieda Frizz-Ease (Original Formula) serum. Ever since I chopped my hair from waist length  last year my hair has been one big ball of frizz but most noticeably when the degrees goes up, so does the frizz. It’s pretty basic application, one pump rubbed between your palms then smoothed onto the mid length and ends of wet/damp hair. Simple yet affective. I love this, it really keeps my frizz at bay and adds a lovely shine to the ends of my hair. It may look like a tiny bottle – but a little goes a long way!

Another hair product next, I’ve been after a Salt Spray that holds my style for a while now. I have thick heavy hair that tends to fall straight no matter what I do with it so when I stumbled across the L’Oreal Paris Studio Matt & Messy spray I thought I’d give it a go. I spray this into dry styled hair – for me that’s usually the fallout of a well slept in messy bun – and scrunch away to my heart’s content. I find that it does stay put for a long time and what’s even better is that it’s flexible enough to change the style up throughout the day, leaving my hair looking rather tousled and messy which is great because that’s what it says it does on the packaging…so er…well done L’Oreal!

Onto beauty products now, I found myself running out of my trusted Maybelline The Falsies Mascara a few weeks back and with no intention of going all the way into town to get a new one, I instead picked up the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara whilst on the food shop with my mum. This, for me, is a great lengthening and defining mascara, it really separate’s and fans out my lashes and leaves them with a really nice wide awake everyday look to them with just a few slicks (it also holds a curled lash really well too!).

Another beauty product I've been loving recently is the Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment. I actually purchased this purely because I wanted the free gift set, like we all do, and needed to spend a certain amount...anyway I wasn't expecting too much and if I'm honest I just thought it would be a pretty standard balm. Boy was I wrong - I've never had a lip balm that nourishes my lips like this one does. The thick, clear gel leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturised and leaves them looking so so healthy (no dry areas at all!)

I've saved the best til last – well my best til last anyway. I've known about Victoria Secret for a good number of years now and was pretty excited about having some stores opening in the UK. Having found some time to go and have a nose about, I left with a bag full of smelly goodies. My favourite though is the Aqua Kiss Body Spray. It’s a ‘refreshing formula infused with rain kissed freesia, daisy, conditioning Aloe Vera and calming Chamomile”…basically it smells AMAZING. So good in fact, I also purchased the Hydrating Body Lotion and the Body Scrub with the same fresh, summer scent. I don’t know what her secret is, but damn Victoria has me all obsessed. I literally spray this just because…its that much of a favourite!
