Spring Beauty Additions 2017 Clinique Essie La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur Bourjois Concealer

It's been a while since I posted about makeup but now that Spring is finally in full bloom, the temperatures are starting to rise and the sun is out for longer than five minutes, it's time to swap a few things in and out of my everyday make-up. It's time to say goodbye to heavier matte products and say hello to lightweight products that emphasise that glow. Here's a rundown of some of my favourite spring beauty picks.

For most of us, spring equates to easter, fresh flowers and the sunshine. It's a daily reminder that summer is just around the corner; those tonal hues turn from winter darks to pretty pastel shades, transforming our looks to ones that are light, airy and fresh.

I like to swap my products about at this time of the year, I like a healthy glowing look to my skin and so it's around this time of the year I'll put my favourite foundations away and dig out the BB Creams. I absolutely love the La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur BB Cream as it's mousse-like formula is lovely and light on the skin. It simply blurs the appearance of pores and helps even the overall tone of my skin without looking or feeling heavy. I won't rave too much as I have posted about this before, you can read that here. It is still worth noting that this product does only come in 2 shades currently!

As I said before, I like my skin to have that glowy, fresh look, so it'll be no surprise that the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer has made its way into this post. I can't get enough of the stuff. Its buildable coverage means you can keep layering the product on, that being said I've found a little goes a long way and so I do not tend to use a lot. It never creases, nor melts away during the day, it just stays where it should and leaves my dark circles covered and other areas of my face looking lovely and radiant.

When it comes to lipstick I am all about the nude, your-lips-but-better shades. Clinique's Lip Pop in Nude Pop is my absolute favourite lipstick. Ever. On me, with my skin tone, it is just a great colour to give my lips a little something without being too over the top. It's creamy formula, demi-matte finish and added primer leaves my lips feeling nourished and comfortable in a way that matte lipsticks often don't.

Pastels are typically on trend during spring, but if like me you're a bit pasty and pastels make you look a bit ghostly, incorporating them in others ways is always fun. I like to this with my nails and Essie's Eternal Optimist is just the perfect spring time dusty rose pink. It's not overly pastel, it does not have that baby pink, white undertone; instead, it's cooler undertone and warmer pigmentation is just all round more flattering on me than most pastel shades.

What are your spring beauty picks? Let me know in the comments.
