Effaclar H Review skincare beauty la roche posay victoriabellxo

Just when you have established a good skincare routine with products that are working well for you and providing consistent improvements, it's natural for some other skincare issue to prop up right? Thought so. For me, dry skin and a bout of impetigo, has meant that for about the last 6 weeks my skin has not been that great. Sore, weeping impetigo in one area and dry flaking skin in another area on my face meant I was on the hunt for a product that would relive as much of the aforementioned as possible. I needed something that would be hydrating and soothing without interfering with an otherwise good skincare routine. I decided to stay within the La Roche Posay brand as the rest of the Effaclar range has been working well for my skin and I really didn't want to disturb that. The Effaclar H Moisturiser sounded right up my street; hydrating and soothing with no harsh ingredients, everything I needed for my sore, dry skin.

La Roche Posay Effaclar H moisturizes oily skin that feels weak and fragile whilst also providing the skin with ingredients to reproduce its natural protective film. It is multi compensating, paraben free, hypoallergenic with minimal ingredients to ensure that it is suitable for the most sensitive of skins. I like that, despite containing minimal ingredients it does contain high concentrates of selected ingredients that work for dry, sensitive skin types, including their much loved Thermal Spring Water.

I've found that for me, an acne-prone, combination skin type in which I have oily areas and dry areas, this moisturiser, used in addition to my current skincare routine, provided long-lasting hydration resulting in fewer dry patches of skin. I also found this to be incredibly soothing, it did not irritate my dry skin nor cause further irritation to a healing patch of impetigo.

I've been using an almond-sized amount on my face and down my neck, both in the mornings and evenings and have been really impressed with how my skin has responded to this addition. Too much can feel a bit greasy on the skin, but it absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling soothed, hydrated and soft.

Side note: after using as part of my morning skincare routine, I've found that this is a great little base for makeup (providing makeup is applied after its well absorbed).

RRP is £16 for 40ml but this is often on special offer across the internet, for example, I picked this up for £8 when it was on special offer.
